Photographer's comments
I love taking photos of cats, especially in the night when they are most active. This was taken around midnight and the cat was deep in thoughts... what is she thinking about? Or who is she thinking of? Maybe it would help if she had a photo to look at instead of having to rely solely on memory... Yes, there are times when photos can relieve our loneliness.
Reason for selection
Photographed in low-key tones and gazing at the night, this cat leaves a strong impression. Somehow her fine expression communicates a sense of youthfulness. This image spurs us to imagine what is out there at the end of the line of sight of the cat as she totally ignores the camera.(Judge:Ryo Ohwada)
