Photographer's comments
This is one photo from my first climb up Mt. Fuji. With the Mt. Fuji boom of recent years, there was a huge traffic jam even deep into the night. The headlights of all the climbers run together.
Reason for selection

The light trails created by the long exposure time give us an image that cannot be seen with the naked eye. I wonder how many climbers passed by during the exposure. Last year I also tried climbing Mt. Fuji for the first time. Because of the bad weather, I did not have a chance to take pictures so I am jealous of this image.(Judge:Kazuyuki Okajima)

This image makes skillful use of the light trails. I think this technique will strike a particularly strong chord with anyone who has tried climbing Mt. Fuji even once. There is a sense of movement to the image that comes from the irregular headlamp shifts caused by the movement of the people.(Judge:Ryo Ohwada)
