The setting sun here is the rising sun in other regions and countries. So it seems to me that in the setting sun we can feel more of a sense of hope and expectation than in the rising sun itself. I thought that maybe by including the runners' legs in the picture, I could express this idea in a stronger way. The location is a cycling road on the embankment of the Edogawa river. My idea was to combine the sun, which cycles from setting to rising, with a person running towards tomorrow.
The narrowing of the perspective to the movement of the legs and the silhouetting with the backlight of the setting sun make for a graceful composition. The rays of light spilling between the runners' legs give a good sense of movement to the image.(Judge:Ryo Ohwada)
