It is an early winter morning out in the country. The air is cold and crisp, the light is still dim, and it is very, very quiet. Just as the sun began to shine on the snow field, the first train of the day swept by. I have loved such moments since I was a child.
In this image we can feel the taut transparency of the winter air. I find very memorable the way that the train is proceeding out of the still weak sunlight as that light spreads across the sky.(Judge:Ryo Ohwada)
