Peering down from the subway stairwell I pressed the shutter. Since I wanted to stop the movement of the person, I raised the shutter speed a bit. This was a stroke of luck as it brought out the contrast between light and dark.
Time seems to have come to a total halt. The contrast of the "motion" and "stillness" illuminated by the spotlights gives a hint of movement to the inherently unmoving pillar. It seems to be observing the woman... The tension here is like a scene from a suspense movie.(Judge:Kazuyuki Okajima)
