West Lake in Hangzhou, China. I visited West Lake about 20 years ago. At that time, also, there was a gray overcast sky. In the drizzling rain, the sky, the water, and the distant landscape are all the same vague monotone. The wet road surface is a mirror symmetrically reflecting two monochrome trees from which the leaves have fallen. The pastel umbrella and red and yellow down jackets provide a garnish of color.
