In a park in England at the end of autumn, all that remained of the day's sun were long rays that seemed like drips of honey. As I walked on the fallen leaves, to the side a shadow appeared. Was it my imagination or was the tree spirit there in my shadow? |

In the English autumn, the sun is low in the sky, and I find the shadows that fall so much longer than in Japan to be beautiful as well as feeling both very romantic and very lonely. Placed at the center, the photographer's shadow creates a striking effect. The reddish tinge of the evening sun is also wonderful. The image directly communicates the innocence of the photographer playing with light and shadow. (Judge:Herbie YAMAGUCHI) |
