This photo is taken from Kala Patthar, a 5,450 meter peak in the Himalayas. The form of Everest would not fit in the frame even shooting at wide-angle. Perhaps I should have shot vertical and made a panorama. There was glacial sludge or a scree slope spread out before me and there was a pond close at hand. I felt danger behind the beauty. |

The warning signs of global warming can even be seen on Mt. Everest. I'm very impressed that the photographer journeyed all the way to Mt. Everest. I would think that a compact digital camera would be perfect for mountain climbing. Since it is a Ricoh digital camera which is good at macro shooting, it would also be perfect if there was an insect or plant at the front. I wonder if there are any insects at 5,450 m.
