A sphere my son assembled from his blocks had been casually rolled across the tatami mat. His colors cast a shadow in the morning sun. Every object that we see has color, but such a variety of colors does not exist in the shadows. I suppose it will be some time before his interest is drawn more to the shadow than to the colors of the blocks. |

I was impressed by the photographer's keen insight concerning the image subject. "Light and shadow" are indispensable elements of photographic expression. The photographer's intentions can be clearly felt, and the composition is very well positioned. It does seem to me, however, that the tatami edge line at the right of the image is too strong and this weakens the emphasis on the sphere. |
