This photo is actually an inverted reflection in water. Branches are shaking slightly in breeze, and river is flowing in peace. I used time-lapse shutter to make it appearing like a wash painting. Color in winter is gloomy but genuine.

The photographer's attention would seem to have been drawn to the appearance of the thin branches reflected in the surface of the lake. The result is a work that could be viewed as a formal construction and that also has a distinctive atmosphere with the wavering of the branches spurring images in the mind. Because the coloration approaches monotone, the viewer tends to concentrate on form, but there is an artfulness here and the distinctive vision of the photographer can be felt. It might have been even better if there was a fallen leaf in sharp focus. |
