Yu Yamauchi
Yamauchi was born in Hyogo in 1977. He started taking photos through self-study in 1991 and then began to produce work from 1997.
After working as a studio assistant, he has continued to photograph while secluding himself away in a cabin at Mt. Fuji since 2006.
He published a photobook in 2010 entitled “DAWN” (AKAAKA), a book entitled “Living above the Clouds” (Say-zan-sha) in 2014, and a photobook entitled “PLANET” (Seigensha) in 2020. He continues to produce photographs while continuing to hold exhibitions in Japan and overseas. He currently lives in Nagano.
