Soft Light Dramatizing the Everyday.
GR IV HDF: Combining sharpness and softness.
Featuring an HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter), the GR IV diffuses light to evoke a film-like softness. Paired with the "Cinema" options in [Image Control], it produces a more evocative finish.
By diffusing incoming light, the filter reduces overall image contrast and blurs whites in bright areas, giving the image a soft, fluffy appearance.

1/4000sec, F2.8, ISO100, 0EV, WB:Daylight, Negative Film, HDF:ON, Electronic Shutter:ON
To enable high-speed shutter operation, the camera incorporates an electronic shutter (available only at high speeds). With shutter speeds up to 1/16,000 sec, you can shoot at or near maximum aperture even in bright conditions—such as midsummer beaches—while maintaining proper exposure, and the HDF can also be used in these environments.
