DR system prevents and eliminates dust spots
One of the most common problems that can spoil image quality is annoying dust spots on images. To solve this problem, the K200D comes equipped with the PENTAX-original DR (Dust Removal) system. First, it prevents the adhesion of dust to the CCD image sensor with a SP (Super Protect) coating applied to the surface of the low-pass filter protecting the image sensor. Any dust that has adhered to the image sensor is then shaken off by the cleaning vibration of the image sensor. This DR system can be activated either automatically every time the camera’s power is turned on, or manually at your convenience.
PENTAX-original dust-alert system warns of dust adhesion on the image sensor
While the K200D is equipped with the reliable DR system, you may still be concerned about annoying dust before you start your shooting session. That’s why PENTAX has developed a unique dust-alert system. This innovative system indicates the condition of the image sensor on the LCD monitor. If any dust is sticking to the image sensor, it exaggerates its outline for easy confirmation. When dust is detected by the system, you can simply activate the camera’s DR system to remove it. Any persistent dust that even the DR system fails to remove can then be cleaned up by the optional O-ICK1 Image Sensor Cleaning Kit. This new dust-alert system makes the K200D’s anti-dust system of prevention, removal and confirmation more complete and effective than ever before.
