Living in the park lake, the many-colored carp scramble for food thrown by tourists. This scene brought to mind the similar plight of people I know and many whom I do not. For their livelihoods, they must all endlessly compete in the workplace, striving with all their might. It is the same for the fish in the pond I thought as clicked the shutter.
This lively, colorful moment has a transparent feel as if it were encased in jelly. With their eyes and mouths wide open, however, the carp have intensely serious expressions. When the lens was turned their way they thought food was coming, but perhaps they had to go without.(Judge:Kazuyuki Okajima)
