Rain DayPhotographer : Yutaka Yabe Camera used : GR DIGITAL III
On rainy days, there are times when the things that we are accustomed to see take on a special look. I left work early and walked though a park carrying my umbrella. The rain falling on the flowers and greenery created myriad tiny drops of shining light. Within all this, I noticed something particularly bright. It was a spider web like the ones I used to enjoy so much when I was small. I was captivated by the sight. When I began shooting, it was like I was a child again.
It feels as if a splash of water shooting out in all directions was frozen with a high shutter speed. Even now I feel like the drops will come falling on me. Shooting in monochrome has given a metallic quality to the image, with each water drop beautifully shining light.(Judge:Kazuyuki Okajima)
