When you want to take a natural, unposed image of a child, the best solution is to use a telephoto lens and shoot the subject from a distance. Unfortunately, this technique is highly prone to camera shake, and usually demands the use of a tripod to stabilize the camera. Upgraded SR system offers better response and greater reliability

The K200D’s SR system employs the PENTAX-developed image-sensor-shift mechanism. As the incoming light forms an image on the CCD image sensor, the SR system cancels any camera shake by shifting the image sensor vertically and horizontally at high speed, based on the amount and direction of camera shake detected by the gyro sensor. As a result, a sharp, crisp image is formed on the image sensor, even when the camera body is still shaking.
