CX3 FAQs - By Product

[Question] What is the White saturation display ? / How can I confirm white saturation parts in a captured image at playback ?

This is the feature that shows very bright areas in a captured image with highlight and with blinking on and off during playback. This allows you to check some overexposed area for confirmation.

The area circled in red in the below picture (right) is the overexposed area. This feature shows these overexposed area like below (blinking on and off).
Blinking on and off (in the right image)

[White Saturation Display setting]

This feature is located in the setup menu. Choose [On] in this option.

After the setting above, pressing the DISP. button several times will switch to the White Saturation display mode.

Press the DISP. button several times.

*1 [Overexposed warning / White Saturation Display]

The blinking area in the highlights display is the overexposed area, in which the bright portions of the subject are whitened out and all gradations of color shades are lost. The area without gradations will not be corrected or compensated after taking a picture.

In such a case, it is better taking a picture again, for example; with avoiding direct sunlight, and/or making the exposure compensation (to minus [-]).You can adjust the exposure settings with the [ADJ.] button, or in the shooting setting menu.

See the FAQ below for the details on the shooting menu operations.
