The Optio W90 is the first digital compact camera to feature the inspired Digital Microscope mode. By combining the optical zoom lens and Intelligent Zoom function at a distance of one centimeter away from a subject, you can record detailed images of the microscopic world — things that can't be seen with the naked eye. Thanks to three LED Macro Lights installed on the front surface of the lens barrel, the Optio W90 captures clear, bright images of the subject, even when the close distance of the camera makes it cast a shadow on the subject. This innovative mode can give you many surprising discoveries during outdoor nature observation.
The new Ink Rubbing filter is perfect for enthusiastic anglers, as it preserves a big or rare fish as a monochromatic, high-contrast image, like the ink prints popular in Asia, to create a lasting record of a special catch.
The Optio W90 lets you capture beautiful movie clips at 16:9 high-definition TV proportions. Thanks to its HDMI micro terminal, you can enjoy dynamic, high-resolution movie clips simply by connecting the Optio W90 to a high-definition TV set.
Automatic detection of 32 faces, with Smile Capture and Blink Detection functions
The Optio W90's advanced Face Detection AF & AE function captures as many as 32 faces beautifully and in crisp focus, even when the faces are tilted or turned sideways. It comes particularly in handy when shooting commemorative photos of a large group. The Optio W90 also features the Smile Capture function to automatically release the shutter the instant it detects the subject's smile, and the Blink Detection function to warn you when the subject's eyes close at the time of shutter release.

Pixel Track SR and High-Sensitivity anti-shake modes
to minimize camera shake
Releasing the shutter often causes camera shake. When this problem occurs, the Optio W90 instantly activates the Pixel Track SR (Shake Reduction) mode to compensate for the shake. When shooting under poor lighting, such as dimly lit indoor locations, the Optio W90's High-Sensitivity anti-shake mode automatically raises the sensitivity to as high as ISO 6400 to effectively minimize both camera shake and subject shake. These two reliable modes are the key to beautiful, blur-free images under all lighting conditons.
Auto-Tracking AF
to maintain constant focus on active subjects for timely shutter releases
Once the subject is captured in focus, the Optio W90's Auto-Tracking AF mode keeps it in focus, even when it moves around in the image field. By eliminating the need for frequent refocusing, this lets you effortlessly capture the decisive moment, even when the subject is an active child or unpredictable pet.

Since the Optio W907s calendar function automatically files captured images into day-by-day folders, you can instantly recall the images recorded on a particular day by selecting that day on the calendar screen.

When you want to share special memories with your friends or relatives, you can make copies of recorded images or movies on a DVD or videotape, simply by connecting the Optio W90 to a DVD recorder or video deck via the included AV cable. Such copies also allow other people to watch the memorable scenes comfortably on a larger TV or projector screen.
Using the included USB cable, you can easily transfer images captured by the Optio W90 to your PC, for use on a Web site or in a personal photo album.
The Optio W90 comes with the ArcSoft Media Impression 2.0 for PENTAX software (available on the accompanying CD-ROM) for the viewing. filing and editing of recorded still images and movie clips on a PC.
