The CX2's new "Miniaturize" mode makes real, normal scenery look like a diorama, and is especially effective when taking pictures looking down from a high vantage point. What will real-life scenery look like with this mode?
In this experiment, we took pictures of the same scene from a high vantage point in Miniaturize mode and Normal mode.
Camera: CX2 ●1/570sec ●F4.6 ●ISO80 ●85 mm *35 mm conversion ●Shooting elevation: approx. 55 m
Camera: CX2 ●1/1070sec ●F4.0 ●ISO80 ●35 mm *35 mm conversion ●Shooting location: slightly elevated
Camera: CX2 ●1/84sec ●F4.8 ●ISO200 ●105 mm *35 mm conversion ●Shooting elevation: approx. 88 m
Even though the scenery is the same, the pictures in Normal mode and Miniaturize mode look quite a bit different.
Miniaturize mode blurs the top and bottom areas of the image, increases overall contrast, and makes colors deeper, which makes the picture look like a miniature world straight out of a model diorama.
See below for more details.
