Date Version Details
2013.08.08 2.30 Add the following enhanced features. The detailed information is available in a PDF document.
  • 1 The Fluorescent option has been removed from the white balance menu and replaced with Shade, Daylight Fl., Neut. Wht. Fl., Cool Wht. Fl., and Warm Wht. Fl. Cool Wht. Fl. offers the same white balance as the now-defunct Fluorescent option.
  • 2 A Multi AF/Spot AF toggle has been added to the list of Fn button pair options, for use when Multi AF or Spot AF is selected for focus mode. Note that the multi/spot AF toggle can not be used in macro mode, when the ADJ. lever is being used to activate AF or AE/AF target selection, or if AF-Cont is selected for Continuous Mode.
  • 3 A Very Weak vignetting option has been added to each of the Hi-Cntrast B&W, Cross Process, Positive Film, and Bleach Bypass menus.
  • 4 Target selection can now be activated by pressing and holding the macro button. Note that holding the macro button will not activate target selection when MF or Subj. Tracking is selected for focus mode.

Modifications and changes
  • (1) The flash will now charge correctly when Auto is selected for Dynamic Range Compensation. This addresses an issue that sometimes delayed charging indefinitely.
  • (2) Addressed an issue that sometimes caused horizontal lines to appear when AE bracketing was used with high-contrast black-and-white.
2013.01.22 2.21
  • 1 An Auto option has been added to Dynamic range compensation.
  • 2 Improvements have been made to MAX noise reduction to reduce color noise at high ISO sensitivities (ISO 2500 or above).
  • 3 If you zoom in on a picture taken using target selection, the view will be centered on the target.

Modifications and changes
  • (1) Addressed an issue that caused the camera to sometimes not detect Eye-Fi cards at startup.
  • (2) Addressed an issue that resulted in auto power off sometimes failing to function following a multiple exposure.
  • (3) Addressed an issue that caused the view through the lens to be displayed during interval timer photography when the monitor was off.
  • (4) The copyright information entered using the Copyright notice option in the setup menu now appears in the headers of DNG (RAW) files.
  • (5) Addressed an issue which occasionally resulted in the shutter-speed display in the monitor not changing when the ADJ. lever was used to adjust shutter speed in interval composite mode.
  • (6) Addressed an issue that resulted in an incorrect aperture being stored with interval composite mode options saved to My Settings.
2012.03.29 2.11
  • 1 Corrected below. There is one error on the length of tag in the Exif information.
  • 2 Modified the phenomenon below. When [S] mode (Shutter Priority mode) is registered to a My Setting, if [Card] is selected as the saved location, the set shutter speed may not be saved correctly.
  • 3 Modified the phenomenon below. While playback images in the Eye-Fi card in the camera, frame moving operation may not work properly.
  • 4 Improved the process below. When taking pictures with [AF-Cont] in Continuous Mode, it may take a longer time until recording images is completed.
2012.02.27 2.10
  • 1 [Floating black level] compensation in Interval Composite scene mode
It has been included in the shooting menu. When this option is [On], it can reduce noise at high ISO sensitivities. And, in [Details + histogram] display in the playback mode, the following items are also displayed for the images taken by the Interval Composite scene mode ; period of time from start to end, and number of composite shots.
  • 2 Copyright in Exif
[Copyright notice] has been included in the Setup menu. Once you have registered your copyright with this option, the copyright will be entered into the Exif information of the images. The copyright entered with this option can be displayed in the [Details + histogram] display in the playback mode. Available letters are alphabets, numbers, and some symbols. A text can be up to 46 letters long.
  • 3 [SnapFocusDist.] for [ADJ. Lever Setting] / [Fn button Pair Setting]
[Snap Focus Distance] can be registered into [ADJ. Lever Setting] and [Fn button Pair Setting].
  • 4 AE control speed up
Improved the speed of auto exposure control.

Modifications and changes
