When you connect the camera to a computer:

 
Only the USB connection is available. Serial connection is not supported.
It is required a computer that is pre-installed with a supported OS version in the following chart, and that has a USB port as standard.
For downloading pictures to a computer, the installation CD that comes with a camera contains the software for Windows only. For Macintosh, no software from Ricoh is required to download pictures. See the FAQ here for the details.
