[Question] Can I export a specific frame from an MP file into a still image?

You can extract specific frames from an MP file shot using M-Cont Plus, Speed Cont, or Multi-target AF and save each frame as an individual still image.

  • The images are saved in the same sizes used for shooting.
  • The original files will be retained after exportation.
  • The focus positions for images shot using Multi-target AF will not be displayed on exported images.

Use the following method to export MP files.
  • 1 Press the playback button.

  • 2 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left Right to display the MP file you want to export.

  • 3 Press the [MENU] button. The playback menu appears.

  • 4 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Down to select [Export Still Images], and then press the button to the right Right.

The procedures for selecting one frame and multiple frames are slightly different.
 
 

Selecting One Frame

  • 5 Press the [ADJ./OK] frame Up Down to select [1 Frame].
    Press the [ADJ./OK] button to Left Right to select the frame that you want to save as a still image.

    5 Press the [ADJ./OK] frame up and down to select [1 Frame]. Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the right and left to select the frame that you want to save as a still image.

  • 6 Press the [ADJ./OK] button.

Specifying Multiple Frames Separately

  • 5 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up or down to select [Sel Mult] and then press the [ADJ./OK] button.
    (Skip this Step if you selected thumbnail view in Step 2 by turning the zoom lever to the right (Enlarged View).)

  • 6 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up or down to select [Sel. Indiv.] or [Sel. Range], and press the [ADJ./OK] button.

  • 7 If you have selected [Sel. Indiv.]
    Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up or down Left or right to select the frames that you want to save as still images, and press the [ADJ./OK] button to select each frame at a time. If you make a mistake when selecting a frame, you can cancel it by pressing the [ADJ./OK] button again. Use this procedure to specify all frames that you want to turn into still images. A symbol appears on each selected image. (See the symbols with red borders below)

    If you have selected [Sel. Indiv.]
    Press the [MENU] button to change to the screen for specifying the range. (Perform the procedures for [Sel. Range].)

    If you have selected [Sel. Range]
    Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left Right to select the starting point for the range of frames you want to specify, and press the [ADJ./OK] button. The starting frame is displayed with white borders.

    If you have selected [Sel. Range]
    If you make a mistake when selecting the starting point for the range of frames, press the [ADJ./OK] button again to return to the screen for selecting the starting point.
    Press the [MENU] button to switch to the display for specifying frames separately. (Perform the same procedures as [Sel. Indiv.].)

    An arrow appears when you select a frame as the starting point and press the [ADJ./OK] button. Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left right to select the ending point for the range of frames, and press the [ADJ./OK] button. An arrow and a white border appear on the selected frames. (The frames circled in red below)

    Repeat the above procedures to specify all the frames that you want to save as still images.

  • 8 Press the Fn (Function) button.

  • 9 Press the [ADJ./OK] button to Left Right to select [Yes], and press the [ADJ./OK] button.

    9 Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the right and left to select [Yes], and press the [ADJ./OK] button.

Selecting All Frames

  • 5 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down to select [All Frames] and press the [ADJ./OK] button.

  • 6 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Left ro right to select [Yes], and then press the [ADJ./OK] button.

    6 Press the [ADJ./OK] button up and down and to the right and left to select [Yes], and then press the [ADJ./OK] button.
