Functional features to accommodate diversified subjects and applications
Exposure system
In addition to AUTO, the camera provides the Aperture Priority (Av), Shutter Priority (Tv) and Manual (M) exposure modes for more creative photography.
AF system
The camera’s 49-segment AF system quickly and accurately focuses on the subject by detecting its position with as many as 25 focus areas. It also provides such convenient AF functions as Face Detection, Tracking, Select and Spot. With the Face Detection and Tracking functions, the camera starts tracking the subject the moment you press the shutter-release button halfway down.
Metering system
In addition to the 1024-segment multi-pattern metering mode that makes accurate assessment of proper exposure levels, the camera provides Center-weighted and Spot modes to meet your personal preference or specific applications.
Built-in flash
The built-in flash pops up high above the camera body to prevent the lens from casting a shadow on the subject. It also provides such useful functions as red-eye reduction, slow-speed synchronization and trailing-curtain synchronization to simplify specialized applications.
White-balance control
In addition to the AWB (Auto White Balance) mode, the camera provides a variety of white-balance modes, including CTE (Color Temperature Enhancement), which emphasizes the predominant color of the light source.
ND filter
All lenses in the High-Performance series feature a built-in ND (Neutral Density) filter to prevent overexposure when using an open aperture in bright sunshine.
Continuous shooting
The camera captures a series of images at a maximum speed of approximately five images per second, allowing you to capture the best shot of an active subject, such as a fast-moving athlete or an unpredictable child or pet.
Quick Dial and Green Button
You can save a set of often-used functions to the Quick Dial, while assigning other useful functions, such as Preview and Enable AF, to the Green Button.
