K-r

Digital SLR Cameras: K-r

A host of creative ways to enjoy digital SLR photography

Digital filters

The K-r comes with 18 different digital filters, including newly added Twinkle, Sketch, Posterization and Color Extraction (two colors), to let you add artistic and creative visual effects to your images. You can even apply several filters, one after another, to a single image to add more personal touches.

Available digital filters:
• Toy Camera, High Contrast, Soft, Retro, Color Extraction (two colors), Fish-eye, Custom, and Twinkle filters can be applied during both recording and playback.
• Sketch, Posterization, Watercolor, HDR, Monochrome, Color, Slim Miniature, Base Tweaking and Pastel filters can be applied only during playback.

Cross process mode

The K-r features the creative cross process mode,* which digitalizes the cross process** used in film photography to create eye-catching images with unique, highly stylized colors. Choose one of the three modes to suit your purpose: Random, in which the results are unpredictable until the image has actually been processed; Preset, where you can choose one of three sets of preset parameters; and Favorite, which allows you to register the parameters of a favorite image.

* Images must be recorded in the JPEG recording format. The cross process mode is not available during RAW-format shooting. *
* A film development technique in which an unconventional film developer is used to produce a distinctive finish with dramatic, stylized colors.

Custam ImageCustom images

The K-r's custom image function provides automatic convenience for the creation of the finishing touch you like. Just select one of nine preset modes — including Bleach Bypass, which creates a dramatic visual effect used in motion pictures — to add a distinctive finishing touch to your image. You can even adjust five different parameters, such as saturation and sharpness, to further fine-tune the image.

Preset custom-image modes:
Bright, Natural, Portrait, Monochrome, Bleach Bypass, Faint, Reversal Film., Vibrant, Landscape. The conventional Sharpness mode can be switched to the Fine Sharpness mode to produce extra-fine outlines.
