Digital SLR Cameras: K-r
Auto Picture mode
The K-r's Auto Picture mode makes taking beautiful pictures simple and effortless, even for first-time digital SLR users. Just press the shutter release button, and the K-r does the rest for you by automatically selecting the most appropriate Picture mode for a given subject or scene and optimizing all camera settings. Its Face Detection AF function can also be activated during live-view shooting to assure pinpoint focus on the subjects' face.
Dust removal and dust alert
The K-r's dust removal system minimizes the adhesion of dust on the CMOS image sensor, with the application of the PENTAX-original SP (Super Protect) coating to the sensor surface. The dust alert system then lets you identify any remaining dust on the LCD monitor, and remove it with the image sensor's dust-cleaning vibration. These user-friendly functions assure beautiful, spotless images.
Lens aberration compensation (available with DA-, DA L- and D FA-series lenses)
The K-r features the lens aberration compensation function, which effectively and effortlessly compensates for the barrel- and spool-type distortions common to wide-angle and zoom lenses, as well as the lateral chromatic aberrations causing color bleeding. The result is high-quality images with edge-to-edge sharpness.
Optical viewfinder
The PENTAX-designed, high-performance finder optics provides the K-r with a large, bright viewfinder image and a clear view of the subject, even under bright sunshine. Since it has virtually no time lag, there are no worries about missing once-in-the-lifetime shutter chances, even in sports and action photography.
Scene modes
In addition to the conventional scene modes, the K-r offers the new Night Scene HDR mode, designed to depict nighttime scenes as brighter, more vivid images.
Compatibility with IrSimple™ infrared communications system
The K-r's IrSimple compatibility expands the world of digital SLR photography: the camera can be wirelessly connected to an array of digital devices — printers, personal computers, TVs, cell phones and photo frames — so that recorded images can be easily transmitted for printing and display.
