[Question] Details on the focusing modes.
There are 4 focusing modes.
Available Focusing ModesSymbol | Mode | Description |
---|---|---|
None | Multi AF | Measures the distances from 9 AF areas and focuses on the nearest AF area. Choose to prevent out-of-focus pictures. |

Face-Pri. | The camera automatically detects and focuses on faces. If no face is detected, the camera performs as same as [Multi AF]. |

Track Subj. | The camera will track the subject while the shutter release button is halfway. You can take a picture in focus by pressing the shutter release button all the way. |
None | Spot AF | Selects one AF area at the center of the picture display to allow the camera to focus on this area automatically. |
- •Even if [Multi-AF] is selected, the camera performs as [Spot AF] during digital zoom.
- •When [Face Pr.] is selected, the camera selects optional white balance; no icon is displayed. Equivalent to multi-pattern auto white balance if no face is detected.
- •Available options for the focus mode vary depending on the shooting mode. The modes that you can change the focus options are as follows.

- P mode, Night Portrait, Hand-Held Night Scn, Party, Beach, Snow, Sports, Skew Correct Mode, Miniaturize, Toy Camera, High Contrast B&W, Soft Focus, Cross Process, Black & White, Sepia
- * Changing the focus options is unavailable with the other Premium shot modes and the Normal Shooting mode.
