[Question] How do I adjust contrast and sharpness settings? (Image Settings)
The GXR allows you to control picture quality by adjusting vividness (color depth), contrast, sharpness, and color from [ Image Settings] in the Shooting menu.
If [Black & White], [B & W (TE)], [Setting 1] or [Setting 2] has been selected, individual values on Contrast, Sharpness, etc., can be adjustable.

You can set the original image quality by adjusting [Vividness], [Contrast], [Sharpness] and [Individual Color Settings]. [Vividness], [Contrast] and [Sharpness] can each be adjusted in 5 levels. In [Individual Color Setting], there are options for [Hue] and [Vividness], and each of them can be adjusted with [Orange], [Greens], [Blues], [Reds] and [Magenta]. These color settings also have 9 levels. |

The procedures for changing Image settings are shown below.
The Shooting menu will not be displayed if no camera unit is attached to the GXR body.
- 1 Press the [MENU/OK] button in Shooting mode.
- The shooting menu appears.
- In the SCENE mode select the [MODE] tab by pressing [Fn1] button. Then press [-] button once to display the Shooting menu.
- For the SCENE mode:
- Details on the SCENE mode operations.
- 2 Press [+] or [-] button to select [Image Settings], and then press [Fn2] button.
- 3 Press [+] or [-] button to select [Black & White], [B & W (TE)], [Setting 1] or [Setting 2], and then press [Fn2] button.
- 4-1 The example that [Black & White] is selected;
- Press [+] or [-] button to select the item, and then adjust the setting with [Fn1] or [Fn2] button.
- 4-2 The example that [B & W (TE)] is selected;
- Press [+] or [-] button to select the item, and then adjust the setting with [Fn1] or [Fn2] button.
- - If [Toning Effect] is selected, move the cursor to the right with [Fn2] button. Select an option from [Sepia], [Red], [Green], [Blue], or [Purple] with [+] or [-] button.
- 4-3 The example that [Setting 1] or [Setting 2] is selected:
- [Vividness], [Contrast], [Sharpness], and [Individual Color Settings] are adjustable. Choose an item with [+] [-] buttons, and adjust the value with [Fn1] [Fn2] buttons.
- - If [Individual Color Settings] is selected (below), move to right with [Fn2] button.
- The Individual Color Settings screen is displayed as follows. [Hue] and [Vividness] are adjustable. Each has [Orange], [Greens], [Blues], [Reds], and [Magenta] items. Use [+] [-] buttons to move between items, and use [Fn1] [Fn2] buttons to adjust the value. Press the [MENU/OK] button to fix the setting.
- [Recall Settings]
This option is to recall the registered settings. After choosing the [Recall Settings], and press [Fn2] button.
- In the screen below, choose the item with [+] [-] buttons, and press the [MENU/OK] button to recall the values for the selected item.
- Below is the example where vivid has been selected.
This screen shows values of [Vividness], [Contrast], and [Sharpness] in the Image Settings. By changing values, you can register them into [Setting 1] or [Setting 2]. Choose an item with [+] [-] buttons, and adjust value with [Fn1] [Fn2] buttons. - 5 Press the [MENU/OK] button, or press [Fn1] button and then press the [MENU/OK] button again. The settings are fixed and return to the Shooting menu.
- • [Image Settings] has been assigned to the ADJ. lever as default.
