[Question] About the A mode (A: Aperture Priority mode) (P10).
Turning the mode dial to [A] (Aperture Priority mode) allows you to adjust the aperture value manually.
When you set the aperture, the camera automatically selects the appropriate shutter speed for that aperture.
Available f-numbers vary depending on the zoom position (2 steps in the wide end, 3 steps in the tele end).
When setting the aperture, the camera uses a combination of aperture and ND filter.
Operating procedure
The procedures for setting the aperture are shown below.
1. | While pressing the mode dial lock release button, turn the mode dial to [A]. |
2. | Turn the Up-down dial to adjust aperture. |
3. | Press the shutter release button halfway down. The shutter speed is selected and displayed on the screen. |
4. | Gently press the shutter release button the rest of the way down to shoot. |

- •If [Auto] or [Auto-Hi] is selected for ISO sensitivity, the camera will automatically adjust ISO sensitivity / shutter speed for optimal exposure.
- •If the [Auto Aperture Shift] is On, the camera will adjust aperture automatically for optimal exposure. This option is located in the Shooting menu, and available only in the [A] mode.

F-number at the wide end (28mm equivalent) : F3.5 / F7.0 (2 steps)
F-number at the tele end (300mm equivalent) : F5.6 / F7.7 / F15.4 (3 steps)
