[Question] Details on the Auto bracketing (exposure, white balance, color).

Auto bracket options are available in the Shooting menu.

The procedures are shown below.


1. Press the [MENU/OK] button in a Shooting mode.

  The Shooting menu appears.

2. Press Up Down to select [Auto Bracket], and press Right.

Select [Auto Bracket]

The available modes are shown below.
Option Symbol *1 Description
ON ± 0.3 BKT-AE Shoots at 3 different exposure levels [ -0.3EV, ±0, +0.3EV ]
ON ± 0.5 Shoots at 3 different exposure levels [ -0.5EV, ±0, +0.5EV ].
WB-BKT BKT-WB Automatically records 3 images: a reddish image, a bluish image, and an image of the current white balance.
CL-BKT BKT-CL Automatically records 2 images (a black-and-white, and a color) or 3 images (a black-and-white, a color, and a black-and-white (TE)).
*1 :The symbol displayed on the picture monitor after the setting has been made.

3. Press Up Down to select an option.

4. Press the [MENU/OK] button. Or, press Left and then press the [MENU/OK] button. The setting is fixed, it exits the shooting menu, and returns to the shooting screen.

Or some setting menu will return to the Setup menu. In the case, press the [MENU/OK] button once again, then will return to the shooting screen.




[Auto exposure bracketing]
If [ON ± 0.3] or [ON ± 0.5] has been selected;

3 images are automatically shot at 3 different exposure levels: [-0.3EV], [±0] and [+0.3EV], or [-0.5EV], [±0] and [+0.5EV].
    • Not available during Continuous shooting.
    • The flash is turned off.
    • [White Balance]: Even if [Multi-P AUTO] has been selected, the white balance works as [Auto].


[White balance bracketing]
If [WB-BKT] has been selected;

Automatically records 3 images: a reddish image, a bluish image, and an image of the current white balance.
    • Not available when RAW mode has been selected in [Picture Quality/Size].
    • Not available during Continuous shooting.
    • The flash is turned off.
    • White balance bracketing does not work when [Black & White] or [B&W (TE)] has been selected for [Image Settings].
    • White balance options are available in the Shooting menu.


[Color bracketing]
If [CL-BKT] has been selected;

Automatically records 2 images (a black-and-white, and a color) or 3 images (a black-and-white, a color and a black-and-white (TE)).To record 3 images (a black-and-white, a color and a black-and-white (TE)), select [On] for [B&W (TE)] in the Setup menu, or select [B&W (TE)] in [Image Settings] in the Shooting menu in advance.To record 2 images (a black-and-white, and a color), select [Off] for [B&W (TE)] in the Setup menu in advance.
    • Not available when a RAW mode has been selected in [Picture Quality/Size].
    • Not available during Continuous shooting.
    • The flash is turned off.

[Contrast, sharpness and vividness in color bracketing]
The contrast, sharpness and vividness in color bracketing are determined by the options selected in the [Image Settings] as follows.

    • The black-and-white image in color bracketing:Recorded at the settings most recently selected for the [Black & White] in [Image Settings].
    • The black-and-white (TE) image in color bracketing:Recorded at the settings most recently selected for the [B&W (TE)] in [Image Settings].
    • The color image in color bracketing:Recorded at the setting currently selected for [Image Settings]. However, if [Black & White] or [B&W (TE)] have been selected in [Image Settings], the [Standard] setting in [Image Settings] is applied.
