[Question] How do I assign a function to the Fn (Function) button?

The procedures for assigning a function to the Fn (Function) button are shown below.

  • 1Press the [MENU] button. The shooting menu or the playback menu appears.
  • Press the [MENU] button. The shooting menu or the playback menu appears.

  • 2Press the [ADJ./OK] button Left, and then press it down Down. The setup menu appears.
  • Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the left, and then press it down. The setup menu appears.
  • If the camera is in scene mode or continuous mode - press the [ADJ./OK] button Left to select the [MODE] tab.
  • If the camera is in scene mode or continuous mode、press the [ADJ./OK] button to the left to select the [MODE] tab.
  • After that, press the [ADJ./OK] button down Downtwice to display the setup menu.
  • After that, press the [ADJ./OK] button down twice to display the setup menu.

  • 3Press the [ADJ./OK] button Right, press it up or down Up Downto select [Set Fn Button], and then press Right.
  • Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the right, press it up and down to select [Set Fn Button], and then press to the right

  • 4 Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down to select the setting, and then press the [ADJ./OK] button.


The items that can be set for each shooting mode are shown below.
The Fn button cannot be used for the selected function when [Miniaturize] is selected in the SCENE mode.

  • *The functions not marked with a circle (O) can also be assigned to the Fn button, but they will not operate if the button is pressed in the SCENE mode or the Movie mode.
