“GR DIGITAL Eto be exhibited at the “kansei - Japan Design Exhibition Ein New York
Ricoh Company, Ltd. is pleased to announce that its GR DIGITAL, the high-resolution compact digital camera launched in October 2005, will be on display at the “kansei - Japan Design Exhibition, Ea four-day event to be held in New York, USA from May 16 to 19 this year. The exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO)
The “kansei - Japan Design Exhibition Eintroduces outstanding Japanese products and services that appeal to the senses (kansei) as part of the “Kansei Value Creation Initiative E launched by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. This will be the second exhibition following the one held at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, France in December 2008. A total of 121 Japanese products of exquisite design have been selected from a wide range of fields as those that embody the Japanese people’s kansei. They will be exhibited at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
The GR DIGITAL is a high-resolution compact digital camera modeled on the GR compact film camera series introduced in 1996, which received rave reviews for their outstanding image quality. The compact, slim body of the GR DIGITAL (a mere 25 millimeters thick), is fully loaded with features that ensure a level of image reproduction capable of satisfying even professional photographers. Since its release in October 2005, the GR DIGITAL has been enthusiastically received by a wide range of professional and advanced amateur photographers.
*The “Kansei Value Creation Initiative Eis an industrial development measure unveiled by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in May 2007 in an attempt to propose a fourth new value axis in addition to the existing manufacturing (monozukuri) axes comprising function, reliability and cost. All this in the context of reinvigorating economic development against a background of declining birthrates and aging population.
