Put the person in the center to avoid distortion

When using a camera, such as the GR DIGITAL series models, with a wide-angle fixed focal length lens or when you want to shoot wide-angle with a zoom lens, if you use a composition in which the face is towards the edge, the face and head can become distorted. One characteristic of a wide-angle lens is that distortion becomes more conspicuous the closer you get to the edge. If you use a composition with the face as close to the center as possible, the distortion should be less noticeable.

One characteristic of a wide-angle lens is that it makes it easy to give a feeling of depth to the image. When taking a full-length photo, if you shoot from a low angle with a GR DIGITAL series camera or with a camera with a zoom lens at a wide-angle setting, the relatively distant face looks small and the legs appear longer than they look to the eye. Shooting this way, you can enhance the style of the resulting image.
Conversely, if you use the same lens and shoot a full-length photo from a high angle, the face will look large and the legs short. The resulting image style leaves a lot to be desired so I suggest you avoid this kind of shot.

Shoot telephoto to avoid face distortion

When using a camera with a zoom lens to shoot a close-up photo of someone's face, shooting from a ways away and using a fairly long focal length will help you create a photo with beautiful facial form. I suggest that you take care about shooting faces from a short distance using a short focal length since wide-angle distortion can result in a larger-than-life nose and facial lines that differ from reality.
