When inside a room during the day, it's ideal to take photographs with front lighting, where the photographer's back is against the window. However, if you're trying to take photos of cats and dogs in natural positions, sometimes taking photos with backlighting is unavoidable. When taking photos against the light, be sure to use positive compensation. You'll be able to see the fluffiness of your pet's fur in the photo, so give it a try.

When taking a group photo of dogs or cats, it's important for the photographer to pick a suitable position and quickly take the photo. Make sure to watch out for the colors and overlapping of bodies. In order to get the dogs to look at the camera, have someone who's commands the dogs will listen to stand behind the camera. In this case, the person in charge of getting the dogs' attention should use the LCD monitor to check whether the dogs are looking at the camera and move the positions of the dogs' faces and bodies accordingly.
