Also referred to as the Simple Z-1, this model was equipped with high-performance such as the Hyper Operation System inherited from the "Z-1" while keeping the price low by simplifying customization features such as the PENTAX Functions. This model also attracted attention for its employment of a silver body color which was the first time with other than a limited edition model.
