This model made an appearance as the flagship model of the P series. With this model, it was possible to select the program modes from the two patterns of shutter speed prioritized or depth of field prioritized where then the selected setting would be displayed as a pictogram in the large LCD panel provided at the top of the body. Further, ease of use was greatly improved by enabling the exposure compensation to be set in 1/2 steps which was a first amongst popularization models.
