These JPEG thumbnail images are displayed at the aspect ratio selected when RAW data files are played back on the camera. The RAW data files themselves, however, are recorded at a full-sized aspect ratio of 4:3 (4000×3000), allowing you to select a different aspect ratio during RAW development.
What is BC (Blur Control) mode?

Blur Control is a mode that takes multiple images and merges them together into a single image to create a picture that looks as if it was taken with a wide-open aperture and shallow depth of field.
The camera determines the optimal settings to use based on the focus position, distance to the subject, and other conditions when images are taken in order to ensure that the most appropriate processing is carried out. Images are then merged together to create a picture with “background blur“ and “foreground blur“ effects that looks as if it was taken with a wide-open aperture and shallow depth of field.
In BC mode, the Exposure mode is set to Open Aperture Priority, the sensitivity is fixed to ISO AUTO, and the file format is fixed to JPEG.
