[Question] What is the [CALS] in the mode dial ?
Quality and size are adjusted to produce photographs suitable to be submitted as official public works pictures.
As the default setting, [CALS Pic Quality] is set to 4:3 N (Normal image quality, 1280 x 960 pixels, with a file size of about 363 KB) to conform to the Japanese standard of official public works photographs, which requires that images be 1 mega pixel with a file size of 500 KB or less.
Picture quality and size can be selected from six options using the [CALS Pic Quality] item in the setup menu.
