  • *1) Pressing an Fn button can switch features. See the below chart for the details.

[Switchable features with an Fn button]

-- Shooting modes except for the SCENE mode --
Options Descriptions
AF/MF *2 Switches between Mult-AF and MF, or between Spot AF and MF, in case that Multi-AF, Spot AF or MF are selected in [Focus].
AF/Snap Switches between Mult-AF and Snap, or between Spot AF and Snap, in case that Multi-AF, Spot AF or Snap are selected in [Focus].
AE Lock *3 Locks exposure. If the AE lock is chosen, exposure is fixed. [AEL] mark, exposure, and shutter speed are displayed in the screen.
JPEG > RAW *4 Switches to the RAW mode with the same aspect ratio, if the Picture/Quality is set to other than RAW.
Color > B&W Switches to the [Black & White], if the Image Settings is set to other than [Black & White].
Color > TE Switches to the [B&W (TE)], if the Image Settings is set to other than [B&W (TE)].
  • *2) If focus is locked in auto focusing modes, this will work to switch to MF. In this case, switching to MF will make the shooting distance fixed at the position of focus-lock.
  • *3) AE lock will not work in the manual exposure mode (M mode). Pressing the [Fn1] or [Fn2] button will automatically set shutter speed or aperture to close an optimal exposure (close to the center of the exposure indicator). This is useful when you want to use optimal exposure as a starting point for modifying exposure.
  • *4) The image size after switching to the RAW will vary depending on the selected value in the Picture Quality/Size as follows.

Settings in Picture Quality/Size Image size in RAW
L(16:9), M(16:9) RAW (16:9)
L(4:3), M(4:3), 5M, 3M, 1M, VGA RAW (4:3)
L(3:2), M(3:2) RAW (3:2)
L(1:1), M(1:1) RAW (1:1)
