[Question] About the A mode (A: Aperture Priority mode) (A12 50mm).

Turing the mode dial to [A] (Aperture Priority mode) allows you to adjust the aperture value manually.
When you set the aperture, the camera automatically selects the appropriate shutter speed for that aperture.
Available f-numbers vary depending on attached camera unit.

A mode

*Aperture
  • Select a low f-number (open aperture) to emphasize the main subject by blurring background. Selecting a high f-number (close aperture) brings both the background and main subject into focus.

Operating procedure

The procedures for setting the aperture are shown below.
  • 1.While pressing the mode dial lock release button, turn the mode dial to [A].
  • Turn the mode dial to [A].

  • 2.Turn the Up-down dial to adjust aperture.

  • The selected mode symbol will be displayed in the picture display, the current value of the aperture will be shown in orange.

  • 3.Press the shutter release button halfway down. The shutter speed is selected and displayed on the screen.

  • 4.Gently press the shutter release button the rest of the way down to shoot.

memo[Memo]
    • •If [Auto] or [Auto-Hi] is selected for ISO sensitivity, the camera will automatically adjust ISO sensitivity / shutter speed for optimal exposure.
    • •If the [Auto Aperture Shift] is On, the camera will adjust aperture automatically for optimal exposure. This option is located in the Shooting menu, and available only in the [A] mode.
