[Question] Details on the Fn button assignment.

[Fn button registration procedure]

The procedures for assigning a function to the Fn (Function) button are shown below.

Press the [MENU] button. The shooting menu or the playback menu appears.

Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the left Left (Macro), and then press it down Down. The setup menu appears.

  After that, press the [ADJ./OK] button down Down twice to display the setup menu.

The functions can be assigned to the Fn button are as follows.
Available settings Descriptions
Macro Target Move the AF target without moving the camera to take a macro shooting.
AE Lock Fixes the exposures
AF / Face-Pr. AF Switches between Auto focus (*1) and Face-Priority AF.
AF / Cont.AF Switches between Auto focus (*2) and Continuous AF.
AF / M-trgt AF Switches between Auto focus (*3) and Multi-Target AF.
AF / MF Switches between Auto focus (*3) and Manual Focus.
AF / Snap Switches between Auto focus (*3) and Snap focus.

AT-BKT
WB-BKT
CL-BKT
FOCUS-BKT
Switches between ON and OFF for each function.
*1) [Multi-AF], [Spot AF], or [Continuous AF]
*2) [Multi-AF], [Spot AF], or [Face-Pri.AF]

[Memo]
  • *When [Miniaturize] is selected in the SCENE mode, the Fn button cannot be used for the feature that is assigned to the Fn button.
  • *The Fn button is clicked while playback images, the image registered in the [Flag Function Setting] will be displayed.
  • *In the Setup menu in Playback, selecting [Trim], [Level Compensation] (when the [Manual] is selected), or [White Balance Compensation], and clicking the Fn button will show the Help for operations.

  • *The functions not marked with a check mark can also be assigned to the Fn button, but they will not operate if the button is pressed in the SCENE mode or the Movie mode.
