CX2 FAQs - By Product

[Question] Let me know about the Continuous mode (Normal Continuous, M-Cont Plus, and Speed Cont).

There are three types of continuous shooting available on the CX2 - Normal continuous shooting, M-Cont Plus (9M) (2M), and Speed Cont (Low) (High). The following is the outline of each continous shooting.

[Normal Continous Mode]

Pictures continue to be taken for as long as you hold down the shutter release button. The CX2 is capable of 5 frames/second * continous shooting at maximum. (With F3456, F3:2, or F1:1, the shooting speed after 30 pictures will become approx. 3 frames/second.)
The maximum number of images that can be shot in continuous mode is 999.
A captured image is recorded as a JPEG file per a frame.

    • * Values measured under Ricoh measurement conditions using a Panasonic PRO HIGH SPEED 8GB SDHC memory card. The continous shooting speed and number of pictures will vary depending on the shooting condtions, the type of recording media used, the condition of the recording media, etc.

For the operations, see the FAQ below.
[About the Continous shooting operations.]

[M-Cont Plus (9M) (2M)]

The camera takes pictures while the shutter release button is pressed, but only the last 15/30 frames from when you remove your finger from the shutter release button are recorded. The frames are saved as a single multi-picture (MP) file. You can export specific frames from an MP file and save it as separate still images (JPEG files) in the camera.
    • [M-Cont Plus (9M)]
      • The camera takes pictures while the shutter release button is pressed, but only the last 15 frames at maximum (about 3 seconds at minimum) are reocorded to create a single multi-picture (MP) file. The image size is fixed N3456 (9M).
    • M-Cont Plus (2M)]
      • The camera takes pictures while the shutter release button is pressed, but only the last 30 frames at maximum (about 1 second) are reocorded to create a single multi-picture (MP) file. The image size is fixed N1728 (2M).
For the details on the M-Cont Plus, see the FAQ below.

[Speed Cont (Low) (High)]

This mode allows you to record:
-
[Speed Cont (High)] : 120 consecutive images in the (approx.) 1 second (120 frames per second)
or
- [Speed Cont (Low)] : 120 consecutive images in the (approx.) 2 seconds (60 frames per second)
from when the shutter release button is pressed.
The image size is fixed at N640 (VGA).
The consecutively shot still images are grouped together as a set and are recorded as one MP file. You can export specific frames from an MP file and save them as separate still images (JPEG files) in the camera.

For the details on the Speed Cont., see the FAQ below.
