[Question] How do I playback MP files?

When you shoot still images with M-Cont Plus, Speed Cont, or Multi-target AF, the images are recorded as one MP file.

  • Images shot in normal Continuous mode can be played back in the same way as normal still images.
  • The focus position is displayed for Multi-target AF shooting.

Use the following method to playback MP files.

  • 1Press the playback button.
  • 1 Press the playback button.
    The most recently shot file is displayed. If this is a movie file, the first frame of the movie is displayed as a still image.

  • 2Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left Right to display the MP file you want to playback.
  • 2 Press the [ADJ./OK] button up and down and to the left and right to display the MP file you want to playback.

  • 3The procedures for changing the display are shown below.

  • [Display as above]
    • Press the [DISP.] button to change between"Normal" and "No Display".
    • The images cannot be enlarged even if you turn the zoom lever to the right (Enlarged View). The images are displayed in thumbnail view.
    • The other operations are the same as those for normal still images.
  • Display as above

  • [Thumbnail view]
    With the screen in the (2) steps above, turn the zoom lever right (Enlarged View) to display the thumbnail view.
  • Thumbnail view
    • Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left Right to select a frame.
      Turn the zoom lever to the right (Enlarged View) to switch to the single image view.
    • The [DISP.] button is disabled.

  • [Single frame view]
    • This displays the frame selected on the thumbnail view.
    • Turn the zoom lever to the right (Enlarged View) to display enlarged view. Or click the [ADJ./OK] button.

  • [Slide Show]
    Press the [ADJ./OK] button to start the slide show.
    • Images are displayed automatically in the order they were consecutively shot, starting with the displayed frame.
    • Operations during the slide show are shown below.
    • Pause/Playback Press the [ADJ./OK] button.
      Fast Forward Turn and hold the zoom lever to the right during playback.
      Rewind Turn and hold the zoom lever to the left during playback.
      Slow Playback Turn and hold the zoom lever to the right during pause.
      Slow Rewind Turn and hold the zoom lever to the left during pause.
      Next Frame Turn the zoom lever to the right during pause.
      Previous Frame Turn the zoom lever to the left during pause.
      First Frame Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the left Left .
      Last Frame Press the [ADJ./OK] button to the right Right .
  • 4To play back files other than MP files, turn the zoom lever left (Thumbnail view). The thumbnail view will be displayed like below.
    Turn the zoom lever left. The thumbnail view will be displayed.

    Press the [ADJ./OK] button Up Down Left Right to choose the image you'd like to playback.

  • The [DPOF], [Trim], [Resize], [Skew Correction] (playback mode), [Level Compensation], and [White Balance Compensation] functions are not available for MP files.
  • [Flag Function Setting] and [Protect] cannot be set for individual frames in an MP file. If [Flag Function Setting] or [Protect] is set when the thumbnail view or single image view is displayed, the setting will be applied to the MP file instead of an individual frame.
  • The individual images in an MP file cannot be deleted separately.
