  • *2)It will reduce noise at high ISO sensitivity. By Pixel output interpolation algorithm, it will be able to provide dynamic range expansion (1 EV at maximum; in comparison with the previous image processing)
  • *3)No external AF.
  • *4)Camera automatically determines multiple focus positions and takes 7 consecutive pictures at one shutter release. The 7 pictures are recorded as a single MP file.

[What is an MP file?]

  • *5)The camera will do preliminaries on focus, corresponding with changes on the subject, even if you will not yet press the shutter release half way. For the details on the [Pre-AF], see the following FAQ.

[Let me know about the Pre-AF feature.]

  • *6)The camera measures the distance from the center AF area. After pressing the shutter release half way, the camera will do focusing corresponding with the changes on the subject. For the details on the [Continuous AF], see the following FAQs.

[Let me know about the Continuous AF in the Focusing modes.]

  • *7)Regardless of the sound setting, the camera will take a picture with disabled Flash and operating sound. For the details on the [Discreet Mode], see the following FAQs.

[What is the Discreet Mode in the SCENE mode ?]

  • *8)This mode takes a picture with higher contrast B&W than those in normal B&W mode. It will produces grainy images similar to those taken with highly sensitive film or high grain film developing. For the details on the [High Contrast B&W Mode], see the following FAQs.

[What is the High Contrast B&W Mode in the SCENE mode ?]

  • *9)This mode captures an image that appear to be a picture of dioramas. For the details on [Miniaturize], see the following FAQs.

[What is the Easy shooting mode?]

  • *11)If camera detects a face(s) in the Easy shooting mode, it will focus on the face(s) automatically, and adjust exposure and white balance and backlight compensation as necessary.
  • *12) Camera automatically selects the optimal white balance according to the conditions of sun and shade or the flash illumination range.
  • *13)You have options of 30 fps or 15 fps in each size.
  • *14)Camera takes multiple pictures continuously while you are pressing a shutter release button. The maximum number of images that can be shot in continuous mode is 999.

  • *15)You can change the upper limit of the ISO sensitivity value for [Auto-Hi], from ISO 400, 800 or 1600. By setting the ISO upper limit it will make the shutter speed high, which will reduce camera shake or the blurring of the subject.
