The AE/AF target shift function is now available in some scene modes.
The scene modes that this function can be used vary depending on the attached unit. The AE/AF target shift cannot be used with the following scene modes; Portrait, Sports, Landscape, Nightscape, Miniaturize, and Toy Camera.

Either [1 EV] or [1/3 EV] is selectable for [ISO Step Setting] in the Setup menu.

This function can hold the following values to the next shooting ; Focus, Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, and White balance. It works when ; after taking a picture, but without releasing the shutter, return your finger position until half-press and keep the position.

Now you can set a time for [Sleep Mode] or [Auto Power Off] by minute (in the range between 1 ~ 30 minutes).

[Copyright notice] has been included in the Setup menu. Once you have registered your copyright with this option, the copyright will be entered into the Exif information of the images. The copyright entered with this option can be displayed in the [Details + histogram] display in the playback mode. Available letters are alphabets, numbers, and some symbols. A text can be up to 46 letters long.

This option shows the current version of the firmware. Firmware update is also available from this menu.

My Settings can also be saved into an SD card.

[B] (bulb] and [T] (time) options are now available for shutter speed in the Manual Exposure mode. The maximum exposure time available varies depending on the camera unit. RICOH LENS S10 is up to 180 seconds, and RICOH LENS P10 is up to 30 seconds.

[ISO-LO] (equivalent to ISO 100) is available.

The [Delete My Settings] has been added to the Setup menu (Key Custom Settings tab). This option restores the settings for [MY1], [MY2], [MY3] on the mode dial to default, or reset the My Setting Box to default.

The [Display Magnification Ratio] option has been added to the Shooting menu. The magnification ratio can be selected from [2x], [4x], or [8x]. This feature works when you make enlarged the center of the screen by pressing and holding the MENU/OK button while monitoring. With target shift, or manual focus, the enlarged display position can be moved with directional pad ([+], [-], [Fn1], [Fn2]).

The [AUTO] option has been added to the [Noise Reduction] in the Shooting menu.

This option that was added with version 1.17 is changed as follows.
Selectable distance options from this version are; [Macro On 12-30cm], [Macro On 7-14cm], and [Macro Off]. (With the version 1.17, these options were; [Macro On 10-30cm], [Macro On 7-10cm], and [Macro Off].)
11 applied -- -- Deleted AF mode selection option
Since this update makes AF speed faster than the previous version, the AF mode selection (QK-AF/FR-AF) is no longer available.
Modified the following phenomena.
1 -- applied applied After focusing on in the macro mode, even if the focus mode is switched to the normal Multi-AF, the AF may work with the largest AF frame. This update will fix this phenomenon to work it as the Multi-AF.
2 -- -- applied In the aperture priority mode, when you take a picture with AE lock, the captured image may be created with soft-focus.
3 -- applied -- In the RAW mode, a JPEG file that is associated with a DNG file may not recorded correctly when the following conditions; Shutter speed 1.3 second or lower, ISO 800 or over.
4 applied -- -- When taking a picture with long time exposure (1 ~ 8 seconds), a light dot may appear on the image. Reviewed the compensation process to reduce these dots.

The [ADJ. Direct ISO Control] option is added in Key Customer Options. When the camera is ready to shoot and this option is [On], ISO sensitivity can be changed by turning the ADJ. lever.

Originally there was one option for incandescent light in White Balance, but [Incandescent 1] and [Incandescent 2] become available. [Incandescent 2] will result with slightly warmer than [Incandescent 1]. The original [Incandescent] is replaced by [Incandescent 2].
5 applied applied [New feature : Shutter speed Auto Shift]
When the [Shutter Speed Auto Shift] is set to [On] in the S mode, the camera will automatically adjust shutter speed for optimal exposure in the case that the selected shutter speed by the user will result for over exposure or under exposure.

Up-down Dial can also be used for selection of Flash modes or self-timer options.
7 -- applied Added [Zoom position] in Edit My Settings.
[Zoom Position] can be registered/edited in My Settings when the RICOH LENS S10 is used.

[Macro AF Distance Limit] option is added in the Shooting menu. When this option is [On], the following can be selectable each time by pressing the Macro button; [Macro On 10 - 30 cm], [Macro On 7 - 10 cm], or [Macro Off]. This option limits the distance that can be focused in AF, and it will make auto focus quickly.
9 applied -- High-speed movement of the Focus Ring
While pressing down the Macro button in the MF, the Focus Ring movement will become faster.

The camera unit information is stored into the Exif information and [A12], [S10], or [P10] is displayed at playback (Detailed Information Display).

How to check the current version of the firmware.
Modified the following phenomena.
1 applied applied The AF may not work well rarely after the Pre-AF setting changes to [Off].
2 -- applied With the S10 camera unit; even when the focus is set to [Snap] or [∞ Infinity], the screen remains the zoom bar display. But this update becomes switching the focus bar display.

Version 1.07 (2010. 03. 18)

- You can choose between QK-AF or FR-AF.
[QK-AF] : AF speed will be faster than [FR-AF]. During the focusing period the image on the LCD will be fixed, and will not follow the movement of the camera.
[FR-AF] : AF speed will be slower than [QK-AF]. The image on the LCD will follow the movement of the camera. AF speed is the same as firmware version 1.06.

Note) While using digital zoom or AF target shift, the camera will default to [FR-AF], even if the camera was set to [QK-AF].

Please be sure to read the following document before a firmware update. You will find the instructions on how to check the current version of your camera's firmware , and the firmware update procedure .
To open these files, you need Adobe Reader.

[Note on the version 1.51]
After extracting the 1.51 update file (e.g. gxr-151.zip), it does not contain the [gxr_vxxx.frm] that is indicated in the instruction pdf below. Instead, the update file contains the following 4 files ; [l08firm0], [l08firm3], [l08firm4], [l08firm8]. Please copy them also into an sd card as the same as the other launch files, and then follow the update procedure.
