Sponsored by Nordrhein Westfalen Design Center in Germany, the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious design awards. Each year, products launched on the market over the previous two years are judged by nine different criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and ecological compatibility.

This year, the PENTAX MX-1 was selected from 4662 entries in 19 different categories as one of the Product Design winners.

PENTAX MX-1 features on optical four-time zoom lens offering a large maximum aperture of F1.8 to 2.5 and a 28mm wide-angle coverage (in the 35mm format).
