PENTAX K-30 lens-interchangeable digital SLR camera wins
iF Product Design Award 2013

PENTAX RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. is pleased to announce that the PENTAX K-30 lens-interchangeable digital SLR camera has been selected as the iF Product Design Award winner of the internationally acclaimed iF Design Awards, presented by Germany’s iF International Forum Design GmbH.

The iF Design Awards have been annually presented since 1953 by iF International Forum Design GmbH, a Hannover-based industrial design organization. Out of thousands of entries submitted from around the world, its jury selects distinguished industrial designs in three different categories: product design, communication design and packaging design. The iF Product Design Award is presented to products that demonstrate overall excellence as an industrial product, based not only on their originality and innovation in design, but also on their functionality, quality and eco-friendliness.

Launched in June 2012, the PENTAX K-30 is a compact, lightweight, entry-class digital SLR camera. Developed to help SLR beginners easily capture high-quality images, it offers a host of advanced features found only in upper-class models, including a dustproof, weather-resistant body and a glass prism finder with nearly 100% field of view. To assure quick response to ever-changing scenes and fast-moving objects, it also comes equipped with such handy features as high-speed burst shooting at a maximum speed of approximately six frames per second, a high-speed shutter unit with a top speed of 1/6000 second, and a pair of electronic dials for swift, fingertip setting changes. Coupled with a grip providing a firm, comfortable hold of the camera and a sporty, functional body design, it assures dependable, flawless performance in the field.
